COG Ottawa is grateful to Just Food, for their support, through the Community Garden Development Fund. These funds provided support for material purchases for new GUO school gardens and garden expansions in 2012, as well as for Heritage Academy's Potato Project.

The Cottage Gardener Heirloom Seedhouse is owned and operated by Mary and Dan Brittain and is located just west of Port Hope, Ontario. Dan and Mary have always grown organically and formalized this several years ago by becoming Certified Organic producers and processors. They are passionate in their work to search out traditional species, varieties and cultivars that grew in gardens of old and re-introduce them to you! This tremendously important work is critical not only to preserving our seed heritage but also to preserving the magic and wonder of hundreds of varieties of heirloom plants. Growing Up Organic is proud to use Cottage Gardener seeds in our schools, introducing students across Ottawa to wonderous varieties while discussing the importance of seed saving and biodiversity with students through our workshops.
